Terrance “Terry” Selb is the owner of one of America's fastest-growing tax resolution companies. A University of Minnesota graduate, he is involved in various tax-related lobbying and community-focused business development efforts. For over two decades, he has consulted individuals, businesses, and other organizations on tax and business matters.

He lives and works in Los Angeles County, California. Outside of his professional endeavors, he enjoys numerous hobbies and other interests. Among these interests is hiking in the beautiful Runyon Canyon Park. Elsewhere, he is passionate about supporting a variety of good causes, including the Los Angeles LGBT Center.

Academic History

University of Minnesota

Terry is a graduate of the University of Minnesota. He studied at the prestigious institution in the Twin Cities—Minneapolis and Saint Paul, Minnesota—from 1968 until 1973. It is from the University of Minnesota that he holds his Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and Government.

Formerly known as the University of Minnesota Twin Cities, the Twin Cities portion of the University of Minnesota's campus is the largest and oldest in the school's system. Organized into almost 20 separate academic units, colleges, and schools, it has the ninth-largest main campus student body of any university currently operating in the United States.

William Mitchell College of Law

Terry Selb also graduated from the William Mitchell College of Law, an independent law school in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Since 2015, the William Mitchell College of Law has been known as the Mitchell Hamline School of Law. He studied at the school from 1974 until 1977. He graduated with a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree in the field of law.

The Mitchell Hamline School of Law is the product of a merger between several renowned Twin Cities law schools. The Mitchell Hamline School of Law is ranked among the best schools nationwide for dispute resolution studies and has full accreditation from the American Bar Association.

He specializes in consulting businesses and other professional organizations on a vast array of company and tax-related matters. In his position at the helm of American Tax Solutions, he has seen the outfit grow to new heights.

In recent years, the firm has enjoyed phenomenal compound growth, equivalent to an average of approximately 10 percent monthly. Under Selb's guidance, American Tax Solutions expanded from three staff to a nationally recognized organization employing more than 150 tax professionals. One of these charities, nonprofit organizations, and other good causes is the Los Angeles LGBT Center. For over 50 years, the Los Angeles LGBT Center has cared for, celebrated, and championed LGBT individuals and families across Los Angeles and beyond.

The Los Angeles LGBT Center now provides more LGBT-focused services than any other organization worldwide. It does so across a mixture of advocacy, culture, education, health, housing, leadership, and social services-focused solutions, led by more than 800 staff in California and elsewhere.

Personal Life

California-based American Tax Solutions owner, president, and senior partner Terry lives in West Hollywood, just a few miles from his company's headquarters in Downtown Los Angeles. He has lived in West Hollywood, also known as the City of West Hollywood, for a number of years.

Before moving to West Hollywood, Terry Selb spent time living in Palm Springs, California, and Minneapolis, Minnesota. The Minnesota native spent much of his early life in the so-called North Star State, famed for its harsh winters. The successful tax resolution company founder now revels in residing in the Golden State of California's year-round sunshine.

His current home, the City of West Hollywood, is known for its arts and culture, high-energy nightlife, and the famous palm tree-lined Sunset Strip. The Sunset Strip boasts the legendary celebrity hideaway, Chateau Marmont, and the renowned live music venue, Whiskey a Go-Go. West Hollywood is also recognized for having some of Southern California's best restaurants.

Hobbies & Interests

In addition to his professional work and charitable efforts, Selb enjoys a variety of hobbies and other interests. These hobbies and interests include enjoying music, movies, and the theater. He also enjoys spending time outdoors with his close friends and family.

One of his favorite places to visit is Runyon Canyon Park. Located in the Hollywood Hills, the 160-acre park, managed by the Department of Recreation and Parks for Los Angeles, is home to numerous hiking trails and enjoys incredible views over the city.
